Evonik offers specialty adjuvants, additive solutions, biocompatible formulants, seed treatment additives and water management solutions that increase agricultural performance and sustainability.
SPECIALTY ADJUVANTS (Tank-Mix)
Adjuvants are surfactants (surface active agents) that modify the physical properties of the spray solutions. Adjuvants are determined by the mode of action from the nozzle to the target.

ADDITIVES SOLUTIONS (In-Can)
Our BREAK-THRU®, SURFYNOL® and TOMADOL® additives are designed to increase the field performance of crop protection formulations.
We have an in-depth understanding of interfacial behavior in crop protection formulations and strong competence in agronomy as we design and conduct greenhouse and field trial programs to evaluate the agronomic performance of our solutions. We also support and advise our customers with regulatory affairs.
We have global Application Technology Centers located in Germany, the USA, Brazil and China where we develop formulations for our customers.
Our product portfolio include wetting agents, super-spreaders, penetrants, oil enhancers, antifoams, dispersants and emulsifiers.
BIOCOMPATIBLE FORMULANTS
BREAK-THRU® additives increase the performance of biological active ingredients and are especially beneficial for microbial based products.
Our solutions address the main challenges of formulating and commercializing biological products such as:

Our laboratories in Germany, the USA and Brazil are capable of handling microbial formulations and supporting our customers with their biological formulation challenges.
SEED TREATMENT ADDITIVES
Our BREAK-THRU® products are available for conventional and microbe-based seed treatment formulations.
For conventional formulations we offer a biodegradable microplastic free binder alternative for FS formulations. Our portfolio for seed treatment also includes dispersants, dust control agents and sustainable surfactants.
Under our portfolio for microbe-based seed treatment formulations we offer a convenient and patented solution that is a biocompatible, microplastic free carrier liquid with binder properties. We also offer biocompatible dispersants and sustainable surfactants that improve shelf-life and biological efficacy (significant acceleration of seed germination and efficacy of the microbe).
Our products facilitate the formulation of hybrid solutions (combination of microbes with conventional and/or micronutrients).
Water Management
Our 2-step approach combines in the first step the penetration and infiltration of irrigation water and rainfall into the soil profile. This reduces the evaporation from the soil surface and maintains a more homogeneous soil moisture in the root zone where in the second step, water and nutrients are retained and release based on the plant’s demand optimizing moisture control conditions for maximum plant growth.
